◯About the Work
“New Nichibu Kikaku,” a creative project launched by director Erika Yamada, is an experimental series that explores “future forms of physical expression” by incorporating perspectives from contemporary theatre and dance into Japanese folktales and traditional bodily forms.
This work takes the folktale The Crane Wife as its motif and is created through different approaches (dance / dance-theatre). From the act of “the crane weaving cloth,” it develops into ORU, a contemporary dance piece that embodies the idea of weaving one’s own life—“to weave = to be.” It is paired with Tsurumachi, a contemporary dance-theatre work woven through physical dialogue that transcends language, performed by actors from Japan and Taiwan.
演出家・山田恵理香が立ち上げた創作プロジェクト「ニューニチブキカク」は、日本の民話や伝統的身体様式に現代演劇・ダンスの視点を取り入れ、「これからの身体表現」を追求する実験的シリーズです。本作は民話「鶴女房」をモチーフに、異なるアプローチ(ダンス/舞踊劇)で創作しています。「鶴が布を織る」行為から、自身の人生を織り込む「織る=居る」を身体化させたコンテンポラリーダンス作品「ORU」と、日本・台湾の俳優による言語を超えた身体的対話で紡ぐ、現代舞踊劇「ツルマチ」の連作です。

This work was presented in January as part of PPP (pre-play-place), where its creative process was shared with the public.
Starting from the scene in which the crane weaves cloth with its own body, dancer Makichi performs as if weaving their own life into the movement. Together with the creative team, they experienced traditional weaving at the Hakata Machiya Folk Museum, transforming those bodily memories into the work.
In collaboration with dramaturg Seiya Ishida (artist collective somegogoro), new landscapes emerge from the weaving body.
今年1月、PPP(pre・play・place)で創作過程を公開した作品です。
鶴が自らの身体で布を織る場面を起点に、ダンサー真吉が自身の人生を織り込むように踊ります。創作メンバーとともに博多町家ふるさと館で機織り体験を行い、その身体の記憶を作品へと昇華しました。ドラマトゥルグ石田聖也(artist collective somegogoro)との協働により、織られる身体から新たな風景が立ち上がります。

A duo work by Taiwan-based actor Fu Rong and GIGA actor Nobuyuki Gomi.
Bringing together two performers with different cultural backgrounds and physicalities, the piece explores hidden aspects of the story and the crossing of boundaries.
Fu Rong embodies a presence that holds both the stillness and intensity of a crane, while Gomi transforms his body in dramatic ways.
Their encounter sparks the imagination of the audience.
台湾を拠点とする俳優・府蓉と、GIGAの俳優・五味伸之によるデュオ作品。
異なる文化や身体性をもつ二人が、物語に潜む「秘め事」や「境界の越境」を描き出します。鶴のような静けさと熱を併せ持つ府蓉、肉体を劇的に変容させる五味。その出会いが観る人の想像を刺激します。
